Tiglath-Pileser III took tribute from Menahem of Israel in 738 BC (2 Kings 15:19-20); conquered Babylon. Ahaz of Judah appealed to Tiglath-Pileser for help during the Syro-Ephraimite War
(735 BC; 2 Kings 16:7-9).
Tiglath-Pileser III attacked Israel and Damascus (733-732 BC), significantly reducing Israel's territory (2 Kings 15:29).
